What are some of your favorite marine creatures?
I know, dolphins right?
Bottlenose dolphins were my favorite animal as a kid. And then one day my sister asked me what my favorite animal was for a school project and I told her killer whale because I didn't want to sound girly and Free Willy had come out recently. But orcas have been a huge part of my life since then to the point that I originally went to school to become a marine biologist.
So, orcas are dephinitely my favorites, but I also like striped dolphins and still have a soft spot for bottlenose. Outside of cetaceans, leopard seals are pretty cool.

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied...

An interesting topic indeed!
I suppose the overall skew of marine biology that I was always interested in towards Bottlenose (T. truncatus) as well as the appearance of a certain time traveling world saving dolphin did pre-determine my preferences in that regard, so definitely they would be on my personal favourite list.
That being said though, Common (D. delphis) and Stenellas are also definitely along them. Back when I was at the Pelagos sanctuary we've actually had a pod of Striped dolphins escort our ship, riding the bow wave, as they do! =)
