The official Ecco Discord server has been holding regular Q&A session with developers for a while now. More recently Ed also decided to do those on a recurring basis and right now they're scheduled every Friday on 12:00 PST.

I have begun recording those sessions starting from the second one and will be sharing links to them in this topic. Chosen format is going to be the same as with Remastered Music section where all of the new videos will be appended to this message. New posts will be added to announce updates.

Ed introduces Ariel, the composer behind the mysterious Ecco Vox Reverb song that got accidentally published in the music player when the countdown on the website ended. Now we know who really wrote it!

Sherman, the team's tech lead joins the conversation and helps stir things up and I get called in as a side consultant on Mega Drive development questions.
This really was a good one, shows how these really benefit from Ed not being alone so that people can take turns talking.

This week's special guest is Dean Sitton: Ed's good friend and colleague at Sega of America! He is best known for his involvement in the conceptual and localization phases of the original Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Mega Drive. He was responsible for conceptualizing the name Dr. Ivo Robotnik, as well as multiple Badniks from the US version of Sonic the Hedgehog.

September 4 2026 session has been added.
Ed took interest in my small project of fixing the glitching Ecco Jr. soundtrack and invited me to talk about it during the session. This ended up in a small lecture on videogame music history, including talking about GEMS and why it was special, before switching to what exactly went wrong and how the fixes were done.
